One of the most important basic requirements for the positive development and growth of our pupils is cooperation between parents and teachers in the school’s educational process. An open exchange of information, as well as mutual help and support in the daily work of the school, are meant to be at the centre of everything. Parents and teachers therefore work together especially in the following school bodies:
\n \nClass Parents’ Committee
\n \nThe Class Parents’ Committee is the core of parental involvement. The class parents’ committee includes the parents of the pupils in the class as well as teachers who teach regularly in that class. The class representative, as chair of the Class Parents’ Committee, works closely with the form teachers. The committee serves for direct exchange of information and experience between parents and teachers.
\n \nParents’ Council
\n \nThe Parents’ Council is the representative body of the school’s parents. It looks after their interests and gives parents the opportunity to receive information and exchange views. It stands up for the school’s concerns towards the school authority (e.g. budget funds, room situation). The headteacher informs it about the general situation of the school (e.g. pupil numbers, class formation and teacher allocation). Two parent representatives are elected in each class. All of them together, as equal members, form the Parents’ Council of the school. The members of the Parents’ Council elect the parent representatives for the School Conference from among their own number.
\n \n1. Chair of the Parents’ Council: Michael Böltz
\n \n2. Chair of the Parents’ Council: Ines Klenner
\n \nGeneral Parents’ Council of the City of Schwäbisch Hall
\n \nIt is formed by the chairs and deputy chairs of the Parents’ Council of each school that has the same school authority. As nearly all schools are usually represented in the General Parents’ Council, its members get a good overview of the difficulties and concerns that other schools are facing.
\n \nSchool Conference
\n \nThe School Conference is the joint body of the school. Its task is to promote cooperation between the school leadership, teachers, parents and pupils, to mediate in cases of disagreement, and to advise on and decide matters that are of essential importance for the school. Besides the headteacher, the head pupil and the chairs of the Parents’ Councils, it includes three teacher representatives, two parent representatives and two pupil representatives.
