Successful participation in the Känguru Maths Competition

On 12 June 2026, the prize-giving ceremony for this year’s Känguru Maths Competition took place at our school. A total of 36 pupils from Years 5 to 9 took part in the competition. The Känguru competition is a mathematics contest with varied puzzle, logic and multiple-choice tasks. It calls not only for arithmetic skills, but also for creative thinking, clever combining and perseverance when solving demanding problems. The aim of the competition is to foster enjoyment of mathematics and to make mathematical thinking come alive in a playful way.
The prize-giving was musically framed by the wind band class under the direction of Friedrich Mück. Some members of the wind band class not only provided the musical programme but also took part in the competition themselves, with great success. Among the most successful participants were Lisa Schoch, Pepe Tonne and Fiona Fritz. The three Year 5 pupils achieved outstanding results of over 90 points.
The Känguru competition was organised and run at our school by Peter Schmid.

The school community warmly congratulates all participants on their achievements and thanks everyone involved for their commitment.
