Our career orientation at different companies

Published on

As part of our career choice concept, the traditional company visit once again took place for Year 8 on 22 July. Our learners had the opportunity to get to know very different companies, depending on their interests, and to gain an authentic insight into everyday working life.

Practical activities with creative content, exciting behind-the-scenes insights, committed and friendly staff, impressive machine demonstrations and a warm welcome with refreshments awaited our pupils at the companies Windmüller, Klafs and Stego, the Breitner bottling plants and the Hotel Hohenlohe.

The sometimes long walks within the companies and the hotel caused a little grumbling among some young people. Especially at the Hotel Hohenlohe, the motto was: „Treppe auf, Treppe ab.“ („Up the stairs, down the stairs.“) Thanks to numerous extensions and conversions, the hotel has been steadily expanded over the years. Frau Dürr gave the pupils exciting insights into business economics, explained what considerations are necessary for a hotel to be run successfully, and took them through the processes in the hotel kitchen.

A real highlight for many was the salt grotto. The ride in the car lift was also a big hit. The question-and-answer session that followed in the Bar am Kocher was also met with great interest. The pupils learned, among other things, interesting facts about the number of employees and trainees as well as the technical equipment of the swimming pool.

Our school community would like to warmly thank all the participating companies that gave our learners valuable and practical insights into the world of work on this day.
