On the evening of 14 September, the new Year 5 pupils of the Johannes-Brenz-Gemeinschaftsschule were not the only ones who were excited. Their teachers were also looking forward to the first day of school together. A total of 148 pupils were admitted this year.
After a short welcome, headteacher Andrea Fürle addressed the new pupils. The teachers then sang Rolf Zuckowski’s song “Mach, was du am besten kannst”, which has become a kind of tradition at the school.
Afterwards, the teachers, or Lerncoaches as the teachers of Years 5 at our Gemeinschaftsschule are called, welcomed the children. In their classrooms, the new pupils got to know their classmates and got their first look at their new learning environment.
