In Year 6, the main focus for our pupils is on strengthening the class community and developing a “we feeling”.

Französisch

In Year 6, pupils have the option of taking French as an additional foreign language. Only towards the end of Year 6 do pupils have to make their final decision on whether they want to take French or another elective subject (AES or Technik) in Year 7.

Schullandheim

A highlight in Year 6 is the one-week residential trip (Schullandheim), where strengthening the class community is the main focus. Previous destinations have included Breisach am Rhein, Speyer, Kloster Schöntal and the Schapbachhof, among others.

Vorlesewettbewerb

The Vorlesewettbewerb (reading aloud competition) also takes place in Year 6, where pupils from different classes compete against each other in reading aloud. The competition is part of a reading promotion concept and aims to motivate children to read books.

Schulsozialarbeit

The school social work team offers a project for all Year 6 pupils on a range of topics around sex education, as the changes of puberty are usually very noticeable and many questions arise.
