First team player day at Johannes-Brenz-Gemeinschaftsschule
Anyone walking through the school building of the Johannes-Brenz-Gemeinschaftsschule on Monday, 22.07.2024 might be surprised by the various stations in the classrooms, corridors and sports halls. Groups of young people of different ages can be found everywhere, working in teams to transport plastic eggs across an obstacle course, crossing a fictitious jungle together using strips of carpet or guessing well-known songs.
The team player day is celebrating its premiere this school year. The initiators, Jannis Krämer and Louise Ehrmann, both teachers at the school, are responsible for the planning and implementation of the day. Jannis Krämer explains the background to the event: “We want to plan a day for the community, to establish something that will help the pupils grow together.” He emphasizes that it is primarily about working together. Louise Ehrmann adds that such a joint event contributes to identification with the school community.
This means that the entire school community is involved in the campaign. Each individual teacher is either in charge of a station or is responsible for catering, for example. The extended organizational team also includes the school social workers Katrin Brucker and Tim Cornelius, head of department Achim Knaak and the teachers Constanze Salomon, Antonios Anastassatos, Ivonne Fischer, Yulia Okhrimenko and Marco Dierolf as well as the trainee teachers Flin Noller and Ribanna Tsehaye. Dagmar Zwilling and Antil Öztürk contacted the sponsors of the event. The team player day received financial support and prizes in kind from the following companies and institutions: Förderverein der Johannes-Brenz-Gemeinschaftsschule, Sparkasse, Breitner, AWO, Schmitt Group, Adolf Würth GmbH, Stadtwerke and Eiscafé Venezia in Schwäbisch Hall.
Keziah Rieker, class 10c, who has taken on the leadership of a group of pupils, confirms: “It’s fun to work in a group. The pupils are motivated and the stations are well structured.” He particularly emphasizes that the group got on well and the atmosphere was very positive. Louise Ehrmann also confirms that it was particularly nice for her to see how the pupils paid attention to respectful cooperation and supported and motivated each other at the stations.
The crowning glory of the team player day is the drone photo of the entire school community and the speech by Andrea Fürle, principal of the school. A special highlight follows on the last day of school, namely the award ceremony and presentation of prizes to the winning groups.
