Mobbing&Du – The Johannes-Brenz-Gemeinschaftsschule takes a stand against bullying

“Mobbing&Du – schau hin und nicht zu” is a school-based bullying prevention program.  Since the beginning of this school year, the Johannes-Brenz-Gemeinschaftsschule in Schwäbisch Hall has been a participating school in this program. Bullying can cause a lot of suffering and have a negative impact on the entire school climate. The prevention program, which was developed by the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Heidelberg University Hospital, is based on the idea that each individual has a role to play in bullying and that each individual can do something to prevent it.  In the fourth module of the prevention program, class 5a learned about the different roles in the bullying cycle. To this end, the class developed still images for various case studies, which were then discussed in detail. The program concluded with the question of what each individual person in each case study can do specifically to combat bullying. The program works not only with the students, but also with all teachers. They are empowered to recognize, stop and prevent bullying. An internal school core team, which is made up of a group of teachers and school social workers, serves as a guide for the school and coordinates the implementation of the program.
