On 22 November, our IMP course for Year 10, together with Frau Baumgärtner and Herr Krämer, visited the Experimenta in Heilbronn to take part in an exciting lab course on the topic of “Microcontroller Programming”. In this advanced workshop, the pupils had the opportunity to get to know text-based programming of Arduino microcontrollers and to realise their own projects.
After the theoretical introduction, the pupils were free to let their creativity run wild and implement their own projects. The projects ranged from simple LED controls to more complex applications involving sensors and actuators. From brightly glowing lamps and a parking aid with a distance sensor to a creative clicker game, many individual projects were created.
The workshop lasted a total of 3.5 hours and offered the participants not only a valuable learning experience but also the chance to acquire practical skills in programming and working with hardware. The enthusiasm and motivation of the pupils were noticeable throughout the entire course.
Overall, the lab course was a great success. We would like to thank Experimenta warmly for the excellent organisation and the inspiring atmosphere.
We are already looking forward to future projects and workshops!
