Fifteenth anniversary of "bunt statt blau" at the Schulzentrum West

If we are to believe the figures on alcohol abuse in Germany, the Federal Statistical Office reports that they are as low as they have been since 2001. For the DAK, however, this is no reason to end the “bunt statt blau” picture exhibition. Quite the opposite: “Alcohol prevention without the wagging finger remains indispensable for us in the future, in order to show children and young people the dangers of alcohol abuse,” said Andree Rump of the DAK in Schwäbisch Hall. This year the exhibition took place for the 15th time at the Schulzentrum West. It was opened on Tuesday, 20 February 2024. It was preceded by a nationwide painting and drawing competition. The pictures of the winners were then exhibited at various schools, including the Schulzentrum West in Schwäbisch Hall.

In his opening speech, Ralph Schröder, headteacher of the Erasmus-Widmann-Gymnasium, addressed the pupils of both schools directly and vividly explained the negative consequences of alcohol abuse.

Alongside Ralph Schröder and Andrea Fürle, headteacher of the Johannes Brenz Gemeinschaftsschule, the school social workers Tim Cornelius, Katrin Brucker and Sarah Frohmader were present; they will go on to run addiction prevention days with the young people.

These range from talk rounds on serious topics such as smoking, alcohol or drugs, through active offers such as football, to a relaxed mindfulness session. With a total of 13 workshops, there should be something for every young person. As well as teachers from both schools, further speakers will take part, for example from the youth addiction counselling service or the addiction advice service of the Diakonie. In addition, a parents’ evening will take place, at which Alexander Weller from the Landesmedienzentrum will be present.
