The Kultusministerium (State Ministry of Culture) has approved the application to establish a gymnasial Oberstufe (upper secondary stage) at the Johannes-Brenz-Gemeinschaftsschule. Since the 2021/22 school year, pupils who meet the requirements can attend Year 11.
\n \nThe 3-year course (Years 11 to 13) leads to the Allgemeine Hochschulreife (general higher education entrance qualification). The Abitur exam at the end of Year 13 will be the same Abitur exam that is taken as part of the Zentralabitur at all general grammar schools (allgemeinbildende Gymnasien) in Baden-Württemberg.
\n \nRequirements for moving up to Year 11 of the upper school at the Gemeinschaftsschule:
\n
The application must be made using the admission form by 1 March 2026. This is a provisional registration. A certified copy of your last school report must be enclosed.
\n \nThe leaving certificate (certified copy) must be submitted by 20 July 2026. If the leaving certificate is not yet available, a grade transcript (Formular 2) must be submitted.

\n \nNo later than 28 July 2026, pupils must confirm their place in a binding way (Formular 4).
