On 6 and 7 March 2024, the motto was „Nehmt eure Zukunft selbst in die Hand!“ (“Take your future into your own hands!”) as Dagmar Zwilling, a teacher at the Johannes-Brenz-Gemeinschaftsschule, opened the doors to the apprenticeship speed dating event for pupils in Years 8 to 13.
33 companies took their seats in the school hall to once again provide information about careers, degree courses and work placements, and to introduce themselves. There was also again the opportunity to practise a job interview, to hand in application documents for an apprenticeship or work placement, or to find out even more about the companies themselves.
This was already the second time that the partnership between the Kaufmännische Schule Schwäbisch Hall and the Johannes-Brenz-Gemeinschaftsschule at the Schulzentrum West had taken place. Being able to hold up to 75 conversations within 240 minutes is an outstanding opportunity in this format for companies, institutions, authorities and, of course, for the pupils too. The young people and young adults really went beyond themselves on this day. Presenting themselves well, making a good first impression and approaching adults from HR departments on their own was a big step for many pupils, and many of them managed it successfully. „Definitely do it again!“ and „That was a highlight for me!“ That was the feedback from many companies and pupils alike. The high-quality conversations and the appealing format in the atmosphere of the school hall impressed the participating companies. Not only the company representatives but also the pupils left the hall with a satisfied smile on their faces.
